21 Jan 2001, New Delhi – Dakshina, Responsibility, Principles for Use of Dakshina, Speaking about Dakshina, Speaking about Culture of Giving in Siddha Yoga, Regularity in giving Dakshina
Dakshina is an important practice in Siddha Yoga. With a deep inner prayer to Shri Guru the following question was placed at the lotus feet of Shri Guru in my heart: ‘What is the meaning of being a custodian of dakshina?’
Response from Shri Guru as emerged then itself. “It means that you have to take every type of responsibility for it.
“You have to take all decisions – may be in consultation – but finally all are your decisions. “You have to decide
“You have to account for it to
“You have to monitor its full-ments. Remember you are a custodian. Nothing of it is yours. It belongs only to Me. You have to take care of it.
“For that matter nothing in your life is yours. Everything in your life is a dakshina, from Me or from others. “Your life has to be also treated like a dakshina.
“Do not fear. You will make a good custodian. There is time for that. “Remember I am always with you. I am by your side and I am holding your hand. “All Siddhas are with you. You are so dear to us.
“On your part shoulder responsibility as it comes. And it will come.
“And think of Me all the time. What you do is not enough. You have to think of Me. 25 hours in a day.”
Next Contemplation. After offering a deep inner prayer to Shri Guru, the question placed at the lotus feet of Shri Guru was, ‘What principles should govern the proper usage of and control on the expenditure of dakshina to carry out proper protection of dakshina to the best? What principles will help decide the end use of dakshina to fulfill auspicious responsibilities of custodians of dakshina?’
Response from Shri Guru as emerged then itself:
Further contemplation: With a deep inner prayer to Shri Guru the question was placed at the lotus feet of Shri Guru in my heart, ‘What does the practice of dakshina mean to me? I have been doing the practice since awhile. What has it meant for me, what has it done for me?’
Response from Shri Guru as emerged then itself. “You have been giving some dakshina. Never mind the amount. Do not let that worry you. “The fact is that the consistency behind the commitment has helped you.
“It has, for example, sent your daughter abroad. It will continue to support you. Have no fears. SGNMKJ.”
Further Contemplation. After a brief prayer I placed the question at the lotus feet of the Master as follows, ‘Are there any areas that I need to work on to enable me to speak with ease about dakshina? Is there some area or some way in which I feel unease or uncomfortable in speaking about dakshina? What do I need to do to overcome this?’
Response from Shri Guru as emerged then itself. “Your main grey area is your shyness to talk at all. In this case the inhibition is also because you hesitate to ask money for a spiritual cause, that others may look down on it.
” You can overcome it easily by putting all your love into the communication. Coming from a sincere heart it always appeals and has a sweet effect on the listener. You can narrate experiences of yourself and others and do it boldly. That is all. Not much more is required.
“It is a perfectly correct and just cause because with it you will see and participate in the spread and experience of love and divinity in opening people up to their hearts.”
Next Contemplation. The following contemplation question was offered within: ‘In what way can I support the culture of giving and ownership of the SY Mission through how I can talk to others and various things I can do?’
Response from Shri Guru as emerged then itself.

30 Oct 2001, GSP – Improving Energies of the World Question contemplated was that if the world is under attack, how to work harder to make a better energy so that the world can be protected now and for generations to come. What can I do about it?
Response as emerged then within me: “A large variety of energies are at play in the universe at any given time.
“Many are not wholesome energies. Many energies cause fear and panic Many energies take us away from the Truth Many energies rob us of peace and love and deny us our true nature and its experience.
“At this time some of these are at work on us and in us. We need to work to re-channelise them, redirect them into wholesome and protective directions.
“The place to start is within us.”

2002, Pune/ 2016, Dehradun – What I received from the Guru, Guidance about giving After a talk in 2002 in Pune, perhaps on the subject of giving, I had noted questions to contemplate. However, except for the first question the others remained unattended, were forgotten and then discovered in 2016. So, I contemplated them in 2016 in Dehradun. Question placed before Master after going deep within: ‘What have I received?’
Response from the Master as emerged immediately within me: “You have received the gift of life. That is the biggest gift. You have received the gift of understanding. That is the biggest gift. You have received the ability to feel and respond. That is the biggest gift. You have been given the gift to reach out to Me. That is the biggest gift. You have been given the ability to love. That is the biggest gift. You have been given the ability to serve. That is the biggest gift. You have been given the knowledge that I exist. That is the biggest gift. You have been given the ability to have comfort and well being. That is the biggest gift.
“You have known the Guru’s feet. That is the biggest gift.”
March 2016. Further questions discovered in March 2016 in old notes. These were then focused on in 2016, after prayers to the Master.
What will I give most in my life?
Response as emerged immediately within me from Shri Guru: “O Virender, you can now only offer seva. You can now only do service. There is not much else left that you can give to anyone in this life. You have been through a lot of giving and receiving. But looking ahead this is what has to become the essence of your life now for the remaining years. Do it well. I will be by your side. Have no fears.”
How will I give it? Response as emerged immediately: “You will give it by the (amount of) time you commit to Me. That will be your service. That will be your seva. So commit your time to Me.”
At what stage will I give it? Response as emerged immediately: “You will give it at the stage you are now at or almost so. The time is at hand. Have no fears. This is the stage. The start of it.”
What will be my bhava when I give it? Response as emerged immediately within me: “Your bhava will be of complete love and surrender to Me.”
What hinders my ability to give it? Response as emerged immediately within me: “A few things hinder and are yet incomplete. Like settling the matter of the house you wish to sell, and having your children understand that (this). That is all. These are small things. They will be easily dealt with. Have no fears. “
What will be my role in giving it? Response as emerged immediately within me: “Your role will be service to Me. There is no other role in this………
…….. If it is finished…. then go now.”

03 March 2003, In Samadhi Shrine – An important Guidance Prayer offered to the venerable Master: “O beloved Lord, so gracious, so benevolent, please tell me, how am I to serve Thee, O Lord, given my job and life situation, and the deep and heartfelt urge and longing to serve Thee, to be in service of Thee?”
Flow in response from the illustrious Master: “I can now attend to your query. Know that to serve Me you have to wait. To serve Me you have to make yourself really pure. Your sadhana has to be your first priority in life. The job and so on, however busy you are, are all meant just to facilitate it. So, turn your mind to sadhana and Me. There is no haplessness here. This is part of the process. This wait is essential. It will prepare you. It will strengthen you. To serve Me you have to give yourself completely. There will be no half way stage. It is all or nothing. Make your mind clear. Have faith, it will happen. All this is not for nothing. Train to action. Train to deeds. I have told you, you will be told at the appropriate time. That will happen in My time frame. Your promise to Me will bear fruit. Believe in that. Go on with the job till the moment comes. Then it can be dropped. Be in love. Be in peace. You belong to Me, and I to you. That cannot change. Let time have its say.”

Early 2000s – Living without Ego A short undated contemplation, could be from the early 2000s. Question contemplated. How would life be without any ego?
Response as Emerged: “Life would be fun. You would never have any tension of any kind. You would be washed in love. All creation would love you as much as you would love them. There would be no difference between God and you. You would be the delight of the earth.”
